Can I do this to get internet to my TV?
I don't want to pay the extra money for an wireless adapter if I can simply use this method to connect a Samsung Blu-ray and LED HDTV to the internet.
My plan, I haven't purchased the TV yet, was to use my laptop to bridge an internet connection to the TV and player to download updates. Will this work? The wireless adapter they are trying to sell me makes it seem like it is the only way to get internet to your TV. I am pretty sure the player is WiFi enabled so no real worries there.
Yes -- it should work. I connect my laptop to the computer via and HDMI cable, but if your laptop doesn't have an HDMI connect you can use a DVI - component or composite cable.
