Have just bought a new plasma Samsung 42" tv is it worth it to take out extended warranty?
when i bought my lg plasma in 2006 in winced at my conscience telling me to fork out an extra £120 for the 3 year warranty-which i duly did.
13 months later the panel failed-after much arguing about who's responsibilty it was to fix the problem they wrote the set off and sent me a new plasma tv (the next model up).
so yes an extended warranty is worth the money-but as the poster above me rightly points out-when they attempt to sell you the warranty take into consideration the fact that the first year is covered by the manufacturers guarantee-so if they sell you a 3 year warranty" then insist it is for 3 years from the date the makers guarantee expires.
if they say no then threaten to walk away taking your business elsewhere-they will soon change their minds.
