Can I receive HD freeview channels in the UK on my Samsung le40a656 television?

I have a 40 inch Samsung LE40A656 television. Can I get the High Definition channels currently broadcast on freeview with a HD arial or do I need some sort of set-top box? As far as I know it is HD ready and my arial is pretty good. I tried reading the Samsung website but it wasn't very good. Any help would be much appreciated and thanks in advance. Party on as usual.

You can get some free HD content via Freesat, you'll need a dish and Freesat box though.
