What are the spots on my DLP Picture?
I just bought a brand new Samsung DLP with the new LED light engine in it. Out of the box I have these spots on my image, no matter what source I choose. They are a dark gray color. By spots, I mean odd shaped dark spot, thought there are a few that are more squiqqley. The spots are not on the TV screen, they are in the picture. Has anyone heard of the mirrors being dirty and thus projecting something similar to what i am getting? The image still comes through fine, just some spots in a few places. I am having the TV serviced whenever Samsung calls me back, but I was jurious if my assumption about the mirrors might be correct.
You are already on the right track having Samsung service your unit. Odds are some jarring occured during the shipping and handling and thus some of the mirror may be bad or misaligned.
