Samsung LN-S2651D LCD Overview
The first and most noticeable aspect from the LN-S2651D may be the super-glossy black finish. It's shiny and smooth, like a new Mercedes. Unless you're opposed to gloss-black finishes on your house entertainment equipment, this HDTV is going to appear sexy anywhere.
The LN-S2651D has an impressive 4000:1 contrast ratio which helps generate realistic seeking deep blacks and bright whites. Contrast ratio is vital in and LCD Tv,and 4000:1 is excellent, especially for an HDTV priced between $800 and $1000 USD retail. Some Samsung HDTVs have contrast ratios up to 10,000:1, but they're usually significantly more expensive. The LN is also capable of displaying 1080i/ 720p HD sources thanks to its 1366 x 768 resolution.
This 26" LCD Television has a specific "game mode" which permits XBox 360 PS2, PS3 and Wii users to see enhanced colors and sound ideally suited for today's video clip games.
The LN-S2651D can also be used being a computer monitor with its 1366×768 screen resolution. This can be a smaller screen res than most dedicated personal computer monitors, but for those folks who wish to simplify points and multitask their display, the LN-S2651D gives superb colours and clarity for Windows XP, Windows Vista and Apple's OS X.
Needless to say, the LN-S2651D has two built-in speakers with 5 watts every. This might not seem like significantly, but the sound produced by the Tv is pretty great (note – not fantastic, but definitely acceptable). It is possible to hook up any analog or digital receiver (or even pc speakers with 1/8" inputs) to the LN-S2651D for enhanced sound.
Even though the LN-S2651D is a widescreen Tv, it can correctly display standard television at 4:3 ratio. In simple fact, there are many viewing modes obtainable within the setup menu.

The final bit of setup involves watching some test media, like a new high-quality DVD, some HDTV programming or whatever suits you. Watching the content for color, contrast, brightness, etc., use the remote handle to navigate the well-designed setup menus. Adjust the picture and sound to your liking. Again, the menus are nicely developed, visually pleasing and offer a straightforward interface for controlling almost every aspect from the Tv.
In movies like Bourne Supremacy and Underworld, lots of night scenes help me judge how dark colours render on display. The Samsung LN-S2651D provided superb blacks with few to no artifacts. Hues are very life-like. Audio is crisp, clear and held up properly with deep, booming explosions and higher pitched sirens and wails. Despite the 4000:1 contrast ratio, I noticed a slight amount of color banding in some scenes. Granted, I was sitting less than a foot in front of the screen, searching for flaws. Had I been 4-6 feet away, I would have detected nothing wrong at all.
Also noteworthy may be the LN-S2651D's extremely affordable price point. You will find cheaper 26" HDTVs available on the market, for sure, but they're usually from off brand names that provide as a lot risk as they do discount.
