I have a question on getting the best VIDEO signal possible to my HD TV. Audio quality is of no concern?
I have a Tivo HD DVR hooked up to a Samsung 46” LCD HD TV via HDMI and the picture is WOW!!!
I recently purchased a Series 2 Tivo DVR, ONLY because it has a lifetime (full service) Tivo subscription. This Series 2 Tivo is hooked up to a Vizio 37” HD TV, but the Tivo will NOT record/display in HD. I am NOT remotely concerned about audio quality of the signal; my ONLY concern is in getting the very best VIDEO signal from the Series 2 Tivo to the Vizio LCD TV.
The Series 2 Tivo does NOT have any HDMI (“out”) connection, nor does it have a component connection. It relies on S-Video out, OR composite RCA jacks (Yellow/ Red/White) to transfer video/audio to the television. The Vizio 37” HD TV does have (2) HDMI connections.
QUESTION – Will an HDMI A/V receiver take the S-video, or composite RCA analog signal from my Tivo, and upconvert the (analog) VIDEO signal to an HD DIGITAL VIDEO signal via HDMI?

but to answer your question there is an adapter that will fit your needs (actually called a dongle) one came with my pc for the media center sd play back to an hd tv. try newegg.com
