how do i use my samsung lcd tv as a computer monitor?
i have a ln-t1953 samsung lcd tv, it says that i can use it as a monitor so i took the chord that goes from my old monitor and used it on the tv, it fit so im thinkinng it should work. i can use the computer in safe mode but safemode is retarded and you can't do anything in it so i want to use normal mode. when i put in on normal mode it just says mode not supported, is there somethin i have to change on the comp? or am i just gonna have to keep using my shitty old monitor, h and if it changes anything the computer is a hp pavillion a1700n with 07 vista

ok so i tried to hook it back up to my old monitor but now it will start to start up but then it wont even get to the login screen, in either safe or normal mode?
Your Vista was set up to display a resolution your LCD HDTV cannot support.
To fix that, you need to:
- Read your Samsung HDTV manual to find out what is its native resolution.
- hook up your old monitor, get into Windows in normal mode (NOT safe mode), set the resolution down to 640x480, then shut down.
- Re-connect your LCD HDTV and reboot. You should then be able to get into Windows normal mode on your HDTV, and re-set the resolution to the HDTV's native resolution.
